An entrepreneur at heart, Elie transitioned from a large Bay Street law firm and became one of the founding partners of GLG LLP in 2016. He serves a diverse client base, ranging from start-up tech companies and family-owned and operated businesses to large scale cannabis licensed producers. Elie is passionate about helping businesses build strong legal foundations by providing pragmatic and effective legal advice, enabling them to grow while avoiding common legal pitfalls.

Elie’s background gives him unique insight into the growing pains of a new business, as well as the experience required to help established businesses navigate complex legal hurdles. From assisting with strategic shareholder planning to complex corporate restructuring and asset protection, Elie has successfully guided local start-ups in their transition to large scale businesses with a national presence.
When he is not practicing law, Elie spends his time playing basketball, football and golf. Prior to attending law school at Western University, Elie fought as an amateur boxer out of the Ajax Boxing Club. Although retired from boxing, he maintains a close relationship with the sport with recreational training and volunteer coaching. Elie is also a musical enthusiast who takes regular singing lessons, attends the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and holds Mirvish season tickets.
